The Domaine Prieuré Roch, located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, is renowned for its exceptional natural wines, faithfully reflecting the richness of their terroirs. Founded in 1988 by Henry-Frédéric Roch, the grandson of Henri Leroy, this estate now spans around twenty hectares across prestigious appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Ladoix, and Savigny-lès-Beaune.
In 1988, driven by a passion for authentic wines, Henry-Frédéric Roch founded Domaine Prieuré Roch with the support of his grandfather, Henri Leroy, the founder of the renowned Maison Leroy. From the very beginning, the estate adopted a respectful approach to viticulture, banning the use of chemicals and promoting traditional cultivation methods. After Henry-Frédéric Roch's passing in 2018, his right-hand man, Yannick Champ, who had been with him since 1989, took over the management of the estate, thus continuing the vision and values established by its founder.
Domaine Prieuré Roch is deeply committed to organic viticulture, excluding all synthetic products both in the vineyard and during winemaking. The vines are cultivated with meticulous care, prioritizing manual practices to preserve biodiversity and the natural balance of the soils. The winemaking process is distinguished by the use of whole grape clusters and the complete absence of added sulfites, allowing the estate's natural wines to fully express the distinct character of each terroir.
Among the estate’s iconic cuvées are prestigious monopoles such as Clos des Corvées (5.21 hectares in Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru), Clos des Varoilles (6 hectares in Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru), and Clos Goillotte (0.55 hectare in Vosne-Romanée), which was once the private property of the Prince of Conti. These wines are characterized by their purity, sensuality, and exceptional aromatic depth, reflecting the estate’s commitment to producing natural wines of remarkable quality.
