Paul Gros: The Rise of a New Name in Vosne-Romanée's Burgundian Constellation

Paul Gros-Tollot belongs to a winemaking family rooted in the village of Vosne-Romanée since 1830. The son of Anne Gros, one of the most respected winemakers in Burgundy, and Jean-Paul Tollot, a renowned winemaker from Chorey-lès-Beaune, Paul grew up at the heart of this exceptional winemaking tradition. After training by vinifying the wines of Domaine Anne Gros alongside his mother, he launched his own label in 2022, coinciding with the transfer of certain family parcels to the new generation.

A Personal and Assertive Approach, Between Family Heritage and Individual Vision

Paul embraces a deliberately distinctive style, notably incorporating a proportion of whole-cluster fermentation in some of his winemaking. He aims to produce wines with more extraction and slightly more structure, built for complex aromatic development and greater aging potential. It is this singular signature, both true to the spirit of Vosne-Romanée and resolutely personal, that now sets Paul Gros's wines apart on the Burgundian landscape.

Bourgogne, Vosne-Romanée and Échezeaux: Three Rare Cuvées for an Exceptional First Vintage

The 2022 vintage, the first under the Paul Gros label, includes three wines:

- Bourgogne Rouge "La Croix d'Argent", from the lieux-dits La Croix Blanche and Les Champs d'Argent

- Vosne-Romanée village "Aux Communes"

- Échezeaux Grand Cru "Les Beaux Monts Bas", a single lieu-dit.

This last wine received a 96-point score from critic Charles Curtis MW, the same score he awarded to Domaine Anne Gros's 2022 Richebourg.

Total production is limited to 550 mixed cases for the global market, with 2 bottles per cuvée presented in a wooden case.
