The Domaine La Boussole is above all a human adventure, driven by Maxence and Sandra, a Franco-German couple passionate about fine wines. Inspired by travels, encounters, and a love for sailing, this project embodies their pursuit of excellence. The estate owes its name to the idea of the compass, a symbol of direction and exploration, reflecting their unique journey. After acquiring two exceptional plots, one in Chardonnay and the other in Pinot Noir, La Boussole was established in the sunny region of Baden, Germany.
Faithful to a vision of organic and sustainable practices, Domaine La Boussole combines Burgundian and Oregonian influences to reinvent German wines. Maxence carefully selects his plots to showcase the uniqueness of their terroirs. In the cellar, natural fermentations and minimal intervention preserve the authenticity of the grapes. Aging in French oak barrels (50% new) imparts elegance and depth to the wines, worthy of the finest terroir wines.
The wines of Domaine La Boussole, crafted from the limestone soils and warm climate of Baden, combine the freshness and structure of great Burgundian wines with the distinctive character of Germany. Each cuvée is meticulously vinified: natural fermentation, 12 months of barrel aging, and bottling without filtration. These wines offer remarkable complexity, a beautiful length on the palate, and an authentic expression of their origins.
