The Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot is a family estate located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Heir to a long line of winemakers established in the village for several generations, Jean-Marc Pillot took over the family estate in the 1980s and gradually developed the domaine. He is now joined by his son Antonin, with whom he has been working for several years.

Today, the estate covers around 12 hectares of vineyards, mainly spread across the appellations Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, and Santenay. Thanks to rigorous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar, Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot has established itself as a reliable reference of the Côte de Beaune, recognized for the consistency and precision of its wines.

Viticulture and Winemaking: The Estate Philosophy

The estate practices organic viticulture, with particular attention paid to soil work and yield control in order to preserve the expression of terroir. Harvesting is carried out by hand, ensuring careful grape selection.

In the cellar, winemaking follows a low-intervention approach.

White wines ferment naturally and are then aged in French oak barrels, with a moderate proportion of new oak to preserve the balance between richness, tension, and minerality.

Red wines made from Pinot Noir undergo gentle extraction and precise aging in order to preserve finesse and elegance. This approach produces wines that are balanced, precise, and faithful to their appellation.

The Wines of Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot

The estate mainly produces white wines from Chardonnay, notably from village appellations and several Premier Crus of the Côte de Beaune. These wines stand out for their aromatic purity, structure, and beautiful mineral tension.

The estate also produces red wines from Santenay and Chassagne-Montrachet, made from Pinot Noir, offering elegant, fruity, and approachable wines in their youth while retaining good aging potential. The entire range reflects the classic and precise style of the great estates of Chassagne-Montrachet.
