The Domaine Pierre Gerbais is a family estate located in Celles-sur-Ource, in the heart of the Côte des Bar in Champagne. Founded in the early 20th century, the estate is now led by Aurélien Gerbais, a representative of the fourth generation, who has profoundly shaped the estate’s identity by steering production towards precise, terroir-driven and expressive champagnes.

Having previously worked within the cooperative system, the Gerbais family gradually developed its own production and bottling, establishing a distinctive signature within Champagne. Through rigorous work and a strong qualitative vision, the estate has become one of the rising benchmarks of the Côte des Bar.

Viticulture and Winemaking: The Estate’s Philosophy

The Domaine Pierre Gerbais places particular emphasis on vineyard work, adopting an approach that respects both the soils and the environment. Each parcel is carefully cultivated to enhance the expression of the clay-limestone terroirs characteristic of the Côte des Bar.

Winemaking is conducted with precision, parcel by parcel, to reveal the full personality of the grapes. Fermentations take place mainly in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, depending on the cuvée, preserving both freshness and complexity. Extended lees aging and carefully controlled dosage contribute to champagnes that are balanced, structured, and elegant, highlighting the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the bubbles.
