The History of Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon

Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon is a family estate based in Vosne-Romanée, rooted in the prestigious Burgundian Côte de Nuits. Jean-Pierre Guyon established himself in 1991 after taking over the family estate, which is built upon a long Burgundian winemaking tradition and a living heritage passed down through generations.

Today, the estate covers around 9 hectares of vineyards, mainly located in the leading appellations of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Over time, the domaine has progressively modernized its facilities and practices while remaining faithful to a viticulture that respects the terroirs.

Viticulture and Winemaking: The Estate’s Philosophy

Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon has been managed under certified organic farming since 2012, with a respectful approach to living ecosystems in order to preserve the authentic expression of each terroir.

The winemaking relies on a unique technique known as the “cloud” method. This cloud sorting technique consists of cutting the central part of the bunch in order to keep only the pedicels holding the berries. This meticulous craftsmanship allows for an optimal selection and helps reveal the purity and elegance of the estate’s wines.

The Wines of Domaine Jean-Pierre Guyon

The estate’s wines are mainly Pinot Noir, sourced from the iconic terroirs of Vosne-Romanée and its Premier Crus, as well as from Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux for the Grand Cru cuvées.

The cuvée Mes Nuages highlights the estate’s signature technique and perfectly illustrates the precision of the work carried out in the vineyard and cellar by Jean-Pierre Guyon and his wife Isabelle.

These wines are characterized by great elegance, intense aromatic finesse, and a precise structure, typical of the Côte de Nuits. They stand out for their length, balance, and aging potential, offering a faithful expression of the exceptional terroirs from which they originate.
