Maison Trimbach – Great Wines of Alsace

Trimbach, Four Centuries of Winemaking Tradition in Ribeauvillé

Founded in 1626, Maison Trimbach is among the great historic references of Alsace wines. Based in Ribeauvillé since 1920, it has carried on, across thirteen generations, a family know-how devoted to expressing Alsatian grape varieties and the region's great terroirs.

The house's reputation became international as early as the 19th century, notably thanks to Frédéric Émile Trimbach, whose wines were awarded at the 1875 Brussels International Exhibition.

Today, represented by Anne, Julien, Frédérique and Pauline Trimbach, Maison Trimbach continues this family tradition, paying particular attention to the quality of the grapes and the expression of terroir.

Riesling, at the Heart of Maison Trimbach's Identity

Riesling holds a central place in Trimbach's production and is one of the house's most recognized signatures. Grown on the Alsatian slopes, it finds in the region's geological diversity conditions particularly favorable to crafting great age-worthy white wines.

Around Ribeauvillé, the vineyards sit on a mosaic of limestone, marl, sandstone and granite soils. This diversity reveals different expressions of Riesling, while maintaining the style sought by the family: dry, linear and precise wines in which freshness and balance play an essential role.

The house also produces wines from other Alsatian grape varieties, notably Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Muscat, which complete its range and reflect the winemaking richness of Alsace.

Clos Sainte Hune and Frédéric Émile, Trimbach's Iconic Rieslings

Among the house's great cuvées, the Riesling Clos Sainte Hune holds a special place. Coming from a 1.67-hectare parcel located in the heart of the Rosacker Grand Cru, in Hunawihr, this wine comes from a predominantly limestone terroir that has belonged to the Trimbach family for more than two centuries.

Produced in limited quantities, Clos Sainte Hune stands out for its concentration, precision and exceptional aging potential. Its evolution over the years gradually reveals the full complexity of this great Alsatian terroir.

Another major cuvée, the Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Émile, comes from the terroirs of the Geisberg and Osterberg Grands Crus, on the slopes of Ribeauvillé. Made from old vines, it combines structure, freshness and depth, with an aging potential that can exceed twenty years in great vintages.

The house also offers several Grand Cru Rieslings, notably Geisberg, Schlossberg, Mandelberg and Brand, which allow you to appreciate the diversity of Alsatian terroirs through the same demand for precision.

Trimbach's Great Wines, Between Purity and Aging Potential

What makes Trimbach wines singular is a constant search for balance between ripe fruit, freshness and expression of terroir. This philosophy gives rise to white wines whose structure and vivacity allow them to evolve harmoniously over the years.

From classic Rieslings to great age-worthy cuvées, Maison Trimbach offers different interpretations of Alsace's terroirs, with a distinct identity.
