Located in Montalcino, in Tuscany, Col di Lamo is run by Giovanna Neri, now joined by her daughter Diletta. A law graduate, Giovanna inherited her passion for wine from her father before becoming a winemaker herself. The estate thus claims a deeply feminine identity, built around the transmission from mother to daughter and a strong attachment to the land of Montalcino.
The property also stands out for its contemporary cellar, built into the natural slope of the hills. The cellar was designed to support the different stages of winemaking and to naturally maintain a stable temperature, favorable to aging.
Col di Lamo seeks elegant wines that are representative of their terroir. In the Colombaio, Lamo and Diletta vineyards, the latter named after Giovanna's daughter, the estate favors natural methods inspired by tradition: organic fertilization, green manures, soil tilling twice a year and treatments limited to copper and sulfur.
This approach aims to respect the balance of the vineyard while preserving the distinct identity of the property's different terroirs, through organic viticulture.
The production of Col di Lamo is closely tied to the great appellations of Montalcino. The estate notably produces a Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, a Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG and the "A Diletta" selection, dedicated to Giovanna Neri's daughter. The range also includes a Rosso di Montalcino DOC, from the Colombaio vineyard, as well as the Lamo IGT cuvée.
Through these different cuvées, Col di Lamo asserts its aim of producing elegant wines, strongly tied to their origin and bearing the personal signature of Giovanna and Diletta Neri.
