Domaine Gérard Julien & Fils

The Gérard Julien & Fils Estate

Located in Comblanchien, an emblematic village of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, the Gérard Julien & Fils Estate is a family-run wine estate renowned for the consistency and precision of its wines. Situated between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Aloxe-Corton, the estate benefits from a privileged setting in the heart of one of Burgundy’s most renowned areas for Pinot Noir.

Passed down from generation to generation, the estate is now run by Étienne Julien, who upholds a demanding vision of the winemaker’s craft: producing wines that are true to their terroir.

Rigorous viticulture in service of Burgundy’s terroirs

The vineyard of the Gérard Julien & Fils Estate extends across several appellations of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The parcels are farmed according to sustainable viticulture that is comparable to organic methods without being certified. Particular attention is paid to soil health, yield control, and grape ripeness.

The Pinot Noir, the dominant grape variety, is cultivated to express the full finesse and complexity of Burgundy’s climats and village appellations. Every intervention in the vineyard is designed to preserve the plant’s natural balance and ensure a high-quality raw material, essential for crafting great Burgundy wines.

Precise, elegant Burgundy wines made for gastronomy

In the cellar, vinifications are traditional in order to respect the identity of each appellation. The aging takes place in oak barrels for several months depending on the appellation.

The wines of the Gérard Julien & Fils Estate stand out for their aromatic purity, balanced structure, and excellent aging potential. They offer a clear and authentic expression of Burgundy, through appellations such as Côte-de-Nuits-Villages, Nuits-Saint-Georges (villages and Premier Crus), Aloxe-Corton, or Échezeaux Grand Cru.
