Romain Pertuzot

A Family Passion Rooted in Chorey-lès-Beaune

Established as an independent winemaker since 2024, Romain Pertuzot carries on a family tradition deeply rooted in the vineyards of Chorey-lès-Beaune, in Burgundy. Coming from a lineage of winegrowers, he began honing his craft in his teenage years alongside his father, former cellar master at Louis Latour. After producing his first personal vintage in 2005, he refined his expertise with prestigious estates such as Nicolas Rossignol, Anne Gros, and Jacques Prieur, where he worked for seven years as cellar master. Building on these experiences, he established his own domaine with a clear ambition: to craft wines on a human scale, precise and true to the Burgundian spirit.

Refined and Expressive Wines Rooted in the Côte de Beaune

The Domaine Romain Pertuzot now covers 3.5 hectares across the emblematic villages of Chorey-lès-Beaune, Pommard and Beaune, complemented by a négociant activity spanning additional appellations: Bourgogne Aligoté, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune red and white. Each wine sincerely expresses the character of its terroir and the typicity of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Yields are carefully controlled, harvesting is carried out by hand, and every stage of vinification is personally overseen by the winemaker. The result is a range of wines that are refined, elegant and beautifully balanced, with pure fruit and natural harmony—appealing both to connoisseurs and to enthusiasts seeking finesse.

A Biodynamic and Artisanal Approach, Centered on Living Systems

Romain Pertuzot follows a philosophy of natural viticulture inspired by biodynamic principles. No chemical herbicides are used; soils are worked through ploughing, and treatments are limited to natural preparations (horn manure 500, silica 501) applied according to lunar cycles. This meticulous care of the vine results in healthy, balanced grapes, enabling precise and low-intervention winemaking. The domaine embraces a deeply artisanal approach: being present at every stage, understanding the vine, listening to the vintage, and conveying in each wine an authentic and profound sense of place.
