The Complex and Sensual Harmony of Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru

Location

Vosne-Romanée is a famous appellation of the Côte de Nuits, as it includes several Grands Crus. Among these Grands Crus, some are monopolies, such as La Tâche, Romanée-Conti, La Grande Rue, and La Romanée.

Located between the commune of Vougeot to the north and Nuits-Saint-Georges to the south, the Vosne-Romanée appellation was created in 1936 and is now one of the most prestigious appellations in Burgundy. The appellation includes fourteen climats classified as Premier Cru and six Grand Cru.

Exceptional Terroir

The soils are mainly composed of clay and limestone, which give the wines unparalleled aromatic complexity and elegance. The vines are located at the top of hillsides or on gentler slopes facing east; ideal conditions for achieving perfect ripeness.

Nuances of Wines

The Vosne-Romanée appellation exclusively produces red wines made from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy. The wines offer fruity bouquets with notes of strawberry, raspberry, and spices. Vosne-Romanée wines age perfectly over time.
