- Burgundy - Côte de Nuits
Founded in 1999, Domaine de la Vougeraie is the result of bringing together the finest terroirs acquired by the Boisset family over the decades. The story began in 1964 with the purchase of the first vineyard, "Les Evocelles," in Gevrey-Chambertin.
Over the years, other prestigious parcels, particularly around Vougeot and in the Côte de Beaune, were added to the estate. Today, the vineyard spans 44 hectares, divided into 72 plots covering 37 appellations, with a predominance in the Côte de Nuits.
From its inception, Domaine de la Vougeraie has embraced a demanding approach, prioritizing organic viticulture to revitalize the soils and produce pure wines. In 2001, biodynamic practices were gradually introduced, offering a more holistic vision of viticulture. Since 2011, the entire estate has been cultivated according to these principles, emphasizing biodiversity and respect for natural rhythms.
Winemaking is carried out with artisanal precision, tailored to each parcel. The grapes are harvested by hand, with meticulous sorting to ensure optimal quality. Since 2008, whole-cluster fermentation has been favored for the red wines, adding complexity and finesse to the cuvées. Aging is primarily done in oak barrels sourced from the forest of Cîteaux, with special attention paid to the lunar calendar during the various winemaking stages.
The estate produces a diverse range of wines, reflecting the richness of Burgundy's terroirs. Among the flagship cuvées is the monopole Vougeot Premier Cru "Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot", a white wine made from Chardonnay, renowned for its complexity and elegance.
The red wines, crafted primarily from Pinot Noir, are distinguished by their depth and finesse, featuring prestigious appellations such as Musigny Grand Cru, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru "Les Evocelles" and Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru "Les Damodes".
