Château Latour is one of the oldest and most respected jewels of the Médoc, with a history dating back to the 14th century. It was in the 17th century that the Ségur family elevated the estate to legendary status, laying the foundations of exceptional expertise. Recognized as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Château Latour embodies the quintessence of great Pauillac wines. Acquired in 1993 by François Pinault, the estate benefits from modern resources while remaining true to its traditions. Viticulture and Winemaking : The Estate's Philosophy
The vineyard of Château Latour covers 78 hectares, including the legendary 47-hectare "Enclos," which produces the Grand Vin. Situated on gravelly soils rich in minerals, this unique terroir provides the estate’s grape varieties—primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc—with ideal maturation conditions. Viticulture, guided by organic practices since 2018, ensures deep respect for the terroir. Manual harvesting, followed by meticulous vinification, reveals the richness and complexity of each parcel. Aging in new French oak barrels imparts tannic power and aromatic finesse to the wines, ensuring an exceptional aging potential.
