- Bourgogne - Côte de Nuits
The Mongeard family has been established in Vosne-Romanée since 1620, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, marking the beginning of a commitment to Burgundy’s finest terroirs. In 1945, the union of Eugène Mongeard and Edmée Mugneret gave birth to Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, now led by Vincent Mongeard, the eighth generation, who has continued the family’s development since 1976 alongside his father Jean. Today, the estate spans around 30 hectares across some thirty appellations, from Bourgogne village to iconic Grands Crus such as Échézeaux, Grands Échézeaux, Clos de Vougeot, and Richebourg.
Under Vincent Mongeard’s leadership, winemaking is carried out with meticulous precision: manual sorting, selective destemming, cold maceration, indigenous yeasts, fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and long aging in oak barrels custom-selected by the estate. The win es are a true expression of their terroir, with deep, structured Pinot Noirs featuring aromas of red fruits, underbrush, and spices, and excellent aging potential.
Tasting a wine from Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret means accessing the very soul of the Côte de Nuits. Each cuvée embodies a demanding vision of Burgundy Pinot Noir: precise, pure, and patiently matured to reveal the imprint of its terroir. Produced in limited quantities, these wines are coveted by collectors, sommeliers, and enthusiasts in search of refinement and genuine emotion. At RP Fine Wines, we have chosen to highlight these exceptional cuvées, true gems of the Burgundian vineyard.
