Charles Boigelot embodies the rise of a new generation of talented winemakers in Burgundy. Hailing from Monthélie, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Charles Boigelot comes from a family of winemakers and works alongside his father at the Domaine Eric Boigelot, based in Meursault. From an early age, he developed his own approach and launched his first personal production with the 2022 vintage, marking the beginning of a highly promising venture.

Despite his youth, Charles Boigelot has already built solid experience with prestigious estates across Burgundy. He notably trained for two years at the Domaine Coche-Dury, before further refining his expertise with Vincent Girardin and Domaine Paul Pillot, leading references of the Côte de Beaune.

Viticulture and Winemaking: The Estate’s Philosophy

Charles Boigelot’s philosophy is rooted in a precise and artisanal approach to winemaking, aiming to express with accuracy the true character of Burgundy’s terroirs. The wines are produced in limited quantities from family-owned parcels located around Monthélie and Meursault.

For red wines, Charles notably favors the use of whole-bunch fermentation, a method that brings aromatic complexity and structure to Pinot Noir. The white wines, on the other hand, follow a pure and mineral-driven style, close to that crafted at the family estate, while expressing a distinctive personal signature defined by remarkable aromatic precision.

The Wines of Domaine Charles Boigelot

The estate currently produces a small range of confidential cuvées, primarily from the appellations of Monthélie and Meursault, including Monthélie "Les Plantes" and Meursault "Les Pelles". The wines stand out for their elegance, finesse, and precise expression of terroir—qualities that have quickly attracted the attention of discerning enthusiasts and wine critics.

The quality of these early vintages has already earned the young winemaker notable recognition in the wine world, with some tasters considering Charles Boigelot as one of the most promising talents to follow in Burgundy.
