Domaine de La Pousse d’Or

The History of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or

The foundations of the estate date back to the 16th century, built in the style of the grand bourgeois residences erected during the reign of Louis XIV. The estate’s history has been precisely documented since the French Revolution in 1789, when the emblematic vineyard facing the property still bore the name of its owner at the time: Pierre Clément Daudignac. Since 1997, Patrick Landanger has led the estate, making major investments both in the vineyards and in the cellar. In 2013, his son Benoît joined him for the winemaking before taking over full responsibility in 2018. An engineer by training and passionate about great wines, Benoît travels the world promoting the reputation of La Pousse d'Or.

Viticulture and Winemaking: The Estate’s Philosophy

The estate’s ambition is simple: to deliver the purest expression of its exceptional terroirs. To achieve this, Benoît Landanger farms the estate’s 17 hectares biodynamically. In the cellar, every detail is designed to preserve the natural balance of the grapes: slow and gentle vinification, followed by 18 months of lees ageing, including 12 months in oak barrels. An uncompromising approach dedicated to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The Wines of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or

The estate stands out in Burgundy for its unique portfolio: 7 Grand Crus, including Bonnes-Mares, Clos de la Roche, Corton Clos du Roi, Corton Les Bressandes, Chevalier-Montrachet, Charmes-Chambertin, and Échézeaux, alongside 3 Monopoles and 11 Premier Crus spread across the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Flagey-Échézeaux, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, and Santenay.
