The vineyard covers approximately 9.3 hectares, spread across several prestigious appellations of the Côte de Beaune. The estate grows Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, producing white and red wines that age beautifully over time.

What sets Domaine Robert Ampeau apart is its commitment to keeping its wines in the cellar for many years before releasing them. While most Burgundian estates offer their wines relatively young, the Ampeau family favors at least a decade of aging.

This approach allows the wines to gradually develop their aromatic complexity and reach an advanced stage of maturity under the estate's cellaring conditions. Enthusiasts can thus access older vintages of Burgundy straight from the estate's cellars.

The Great Terroirs of Meursault and the Côte de Beaune

Domaine Robert Ampeau owns parcels in several renowned appellations of the Côte de Beaune, with a particularly remarkable presence in Meursault. Its white wines include the Meursault Premiers Crus Les Perrières, Les Charmes and La Pièce sous le Bois, as well as the Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Combettes.

Made from Chardonnay, these wines reveal over time highly distinctive, intense, classic and elegant mature aromas, while retaining a structure and freshness specific to their terroirs of origin.

The estate also produces red wines from Pinot Noir, notably from the appellations Pommard, Volnay Premier Cru Santenots, Beaune Premier Cru Clos du Roi and Auxey-Duresses Premier Cru Les Ecussaux. Aging favors the suppleness of well-balanced tannins and the appearance of more complex aromatic nuances, characteristic of great mature red Burgundies.
