Domaine Leroy, located in the heart of Burgundy in Vosne-Romanée, embodies viticultural excellence and the elegance of Burgundy’s Grands Crus. Founded in 1868 by François Leroy, the estate experienced a decisive turning point in 1988 when Lalou Bize-Leroy, an iconic figure in the world of winemaking, took the helm. A visionary, she transformed the estate into a pioneer of biodynamics, setting a new standard of quality for rare and prestigious wines.
Under the leadership of Lalou Bize-Leroy, the estate has strengthened its international reputation by producing exceptional cuvées from Burgundy’s finest climats. Today, Domaine Leroy is universally recognized for its wines of rare purity, sought after by enthusiasts and collectors around the globe.
The philosophy of Domaine Leroy is founded on an absolute respect for nature and the terroir. The estate’s 22 hectares of vines are entirely cultivated biodynamically, a bold choice that ensures the most authentic expression of Burgundy’s soils. No chemical products are used, and all vineyard work is performed manually, following lunar cycles to promote the vitality of the soils and vines.
In the cellar, winemaking is equally meticulous. The grapes, harvested through careful manual selection, are rigorously sorted to retain only the finest clusters. Fermentations occur naturally, without the addition of yeast, and aging in oak barrels, often new, honors the unique character of each climat. This artisanal approach gives rise to wines of unparalleled depth and complexity.
The wines of Domaine Leroy embody the very essence of Burgundy’s terroir. Legendary appellations such as Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Richebourg, and Musigny are among the jewels of the estate. These exceptional Grands Crus are celebrated for their aromatic intensity, silky texture, and incredible aging potential. The Premiers Crus, such as Les Beaux Monts or Aux Allots, also stand among the finest, offering remarkable finesse and elegance.
Each cuvée from Domaine Leroy is produced in extremely limited quantities, enhancing their rarity and desirability. These precious wines captivate discerning connoisseurs and collectors seeking a unique tasting experience.
