Simon Colin is part of the new generation of talented winemakers in Burgundy. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Simon Colin comes from a family deeply rooted in the Burgundian vineyard tradition. The son of winemaker Philippe Colin, he established his own domaine in 2021 after several years of experience, notably working alongside his father.
To launch his venture, Simon Colin took over a selection of 9 hectares of family-owned parcels located on some of the finest terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Santenay and Maranges.
In the vineyard, Simon Colin favors meticulous soil work and a respectful approach to each parcel in order to preserve the natural expression of the terroir. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand, with rigorous grape selection. His philosophy is inspired by organic and biodynamic farming principles.
In the cellar, vinifications are conducted with precision to maintain the purity of the fruit and the clarity of each climat. The white wines are fermented and aged in oak barrels, with a measured use of new oak to preserve the balance and tension characteristic of the finest Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune. The red wines, crafted from Pinot Noir, are vinified with delicacy to retain finesse and elegance.
The estate primarily produces white wines from Chardonnay, notably across the appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin and Santenay. These wines stand out for their mineral tension, aromatic precision, and remarkable elegance.
Simon Colin also produces a selection of Pinot Noir red wines, elegantly reflecting the terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. The entire range is defined by wines of precision, balance, and luminosity, expressing the full potential of Burgundy’s great climats.
