Founded in the late 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, Domaine Ramonet is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. Arriving in Burgundy without resources, Pierre gradually acquired vineyard parcels, building an estate renowned for the exceptional quality of its wines.
By the 1930s, Pierre Ramonet's wines had gained prominence, particularly through their export to the United States and their presence on the tables of Michelin-starred French restaurants.
Today, the estate is managed by the third generation of the family, with Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet at the helm. The vineyard spans approximately 17 hectares, spread across Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Bouzeron, and Pernand-Vergelesses, producing about 70% white wines and 30% red wines.
Domaine Ramonet adopts a sustainable viticulture approach, emphasizing respect for the terroirs and careful yield management. Soil work and a reasoned approach to disease control help preserve biodiversity and ensure the quality of the grapes.
Winemaking is carried out in a traditional manner, with fermentation in oak barrels and aging for 12 to 18 months, depending on the appellation. This method allows the wines to develop their aromatic complexity and structure, while faithfully reflecting the characteristics of their original terroir.
Domaine Ramonet is particularly renowned for its white wines, especially those from prestigious appellations such as Montrachet Grand Cru, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. These wines are distinguished by their richness, freshness, and exceptional aging potential.
The estate's red wines, primarily made from Pinot Noir, offer impressive density, power, and remarkable concentration. Among the notable cuvées are Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Boudriotte and Pernand-Vergelesses Les Belles Filles.
